Hyper-local, by design

Every interaction on LyPinn is gated by a 3 km / 2 mi radius. There is no global feed. The result is signal density per square kilometre — the same metric that turned NextDoor into a $4B+ business in the US, and that still has no clear winner in India, LATAM, SE Asia, or most of EU outside a handful of Western capitals.

Intent over engagement

Cards auto-expire in 24 h. Connects are one-shot. We deliberately reject feed mechanics, follower counts and DM-loops — the things that burn out posters and turn casual users into churners. This gives every card a real-world action attached: a meet, a buy, a swap, a gig.

GNote: the location-locked message

A category of message that doesn't exist anywhere else — a note sealed to a place, revealed only when the recipient physically arrives. Already shipped, with a Physical-Gift QR variant that brings non-app users on board via a web fallback + auto-onboarding. The same primitive powers proof-of-visit for SMBs (field-service, event check-ins, location-locked coupons).

Two sides, one rail

Individuals drop cards. SMBs drop cards on the same rail with a verified business badge, higher caps, and QR-pinned drop spots. Same product, two GTM motions. We believe the SMB side is the moat — local discovery for cafés/clinics/gyms is fundamentally broken outside Google.

Seed cheque to extend runway 18-24 months while we sharpen wedge city by city. Open to standard SAFE / convertible / priced rounds — happy to discuss what fits your fund's stage thesis.

Distribution help

Investors with networks in (a) local-services SaaS, (b) university campuses, (c) builder/architect communities, or (d) Indian metro neighbourhoods — those are the four wedges where we want to plant flags first.

Critical feedback

Most useful at this stage: "why this won't work" memos. We'll read every one. Founders are easy to find, brutal early-stage critics are not.

What stage is LyPinn at?

Live in production on web + iOS + Android, all 100% free-tier today while we validate the wedge. Pre-revenue · pre-priced-round. Self-funded so far.

Why a hyper-local app in 2026?

Because nobody has won it in India, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nigeria, or most of Europe outside a few Western metros. NextDoor proved the demand pattern; everyone else has copied the wrong half of it (the feed) and missed the right half (the intent + the place + the expiry).

What's the monetisation plan?

Three pillars, none of them ads. (1) Paid tiers for individuals who want larger card caps, more connects, more mystery cards, and longer GNote windows. (2) Paid tiers for verified businesses with analytics, multi-seat, custom QR frames, and proof-of-visit reporting. (3) Optional location-anchored services on top of GNote primitives (gift-card distribution, event-pass issuance, field-service audit trails).

Why won't this just turn into another social feed?

Three hard constraints baked into the product: 24-hour card auto-expiry; one-shot connects; zero global feed. We've shipped this for a year and it makes feed-like behaviour structurally impossible.

What's your data + privacy story?

Email-only identity (no phone collected). Location pins are rounded to ~150 m on the wire so recipients see a neighbourhood, never an address. DPDP-compliant audit log for every physical-gift QR unlock event, retained 2 years. We collect the minimum we need to run the product.

Is the team coachable?

Yes. The founder is a 15-year product builder (VP-Products track) who treats every product as a system that has things to teach you — including the patterns the user-research deck never surfaces — and is actively looking for honest sparring partners who'll point out the next blind spot before the market does.
