What exactly is LyPinn?

LyPinn is a hyper-local notice-board pinned to a map. You drop a small card (a request, a giveaway, an invite) and only people within a 3 km radius see it. It's not a social feed — there's no global timeline, no DMs, no follower count.

Is LyPinn free to use?

Yes — all features are 100% free for everyone right now while we validate the product. There are no ads. We'll introduce paid options later, but the current free tier (10 cards, 25 connect credits, 24h lifetime, 3 mystery cards/week) stays available.

How does the 3 km radius work?

Cards are only visible to people physically within roughly 3 km of where you dropped the pin. Move out of the radius and the card disappears from your feed. That's how we keep the noise hyper-local.

What's a GNote?

A GNote is a private message you leave at a specific location. The recipient sees nothing until they physically arrive within the unlock radius you choose (50 m, 250 m, 500 m or 1 km). Think of it as a treasure-map note dropped on a real place.

What does 'Connect' mean? Why only once?

When a card interests you, you spend one connect credit to send a single reply to the poster. That's it — one reply, then the thread is quiet. We deliberately don't have DMs because back-and-forth threads burn out the people who post.

How do you verify users?

We run KYC on Aadhaar / PAN (and GSTIN for business accounts) through a licensed KYC provider. Users who complete KYC earn a green "KYC Verified" badge on every card they drop. Note: KYC confirms the person is genuine — it is NOT an endorsement of any offer, claim, product or service they post. Always use your own judgement before responding.

Is my exact location shown to strangers?

Never. Your pin is shown rounded to ~150 m precision on the map. Recipients see the neighbourhood, not your front door.

Can I report or block someone?

Yes. Every card has a 'Report card', 'Report this user', and 'Block this user' option. Blocked users disappear from your feed forever — they can't see your cards either. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.

What happens to my cards?

Each card auto-expires 24 hours after you drop it. Reminders can live longer. You can also delete a card manually anytime from My Cards.

Do I need to install the app?

You can use LyPinn on the web at lypinn.com for browsing, dropping cards and managing your profile. The iOS and Android apps add background notifications, location-based GNotes, and home-screen widgets. Both are free.

Is there a 'Dating' category?

No — we removed it. The community focus is on neighbourhood activity, causes, events, gigs and quick swaps. There's a 'Cause' category for community/environmental/social initiatives.

What does 'mystery card' mean?

A mystery card is a delight-mode card chosen from one of our curated presets (Environmentalist, Community Support, Change Maker, etc.). You get 3 mystery card drops per week on the free plan.

Can my shop / cafe / clinic use LyPinn?

Yes — and there's a dedicated 'Business' account type at signup. You get a slightly higher card cap, business-only QR drop spots, and a verified Business badge on your cards.

What's the Business free tier?

What are QR spots?

A printable QR code tied to a specific physical location (e.g. your shop entrance). Customers scan it to see your latest LyPinn cards without installing the app, and they can claim location-locked offers without you handing out coupon codes.

How does LyPinn compare to Google My Business?

GMB is a static profile; LyPinn is dynamic. You drop time-bound cards: 'fresh stock just in', '20% off till 7pm', 'last 2 idli plates'. Cards expire automatically, so customers always see live offers — not stale ones from three months ago.

Can I run promotions or giveaways?

Yes. Use Mystery cards for surprise-delivery promotions, or standard cards with the 'Urgency' category for time-limited offers. We don't auto-publish to other platforms — every card is opt-in for your customers.

Will customers see my contact info?

Only the contact channel you choose. You can publish your verified email or just rely on the in-app Connect flow — we don't collect or display phone numbers.

Basic per-card view + connect counts are shown on every card you own. Aggregate analytics dashboards are on our roadmap.

Is there a paid Business plan?

Can I have multiple staff manage one business account?

How do I verify my business?

Sign up with your business email and verify it. Optional: send us a short verification request to hello@lypinn.com with a link to your GMB / website and we'll add a manual business-verified mark.

Can I use GNotes to prove a field-services rep visited a site?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that's exactly the proof-of-visit pattern GNotes support. The moment your engineer accepts a GNote, it gets bound to that specific phone. The job/visit code only unlocks when the same device is physically at the pinned location. Logging into a second phone with the same account won't reveal the body — making it impossible to fake the visit remotely.
